Used car supermarket, Carworld has welcomed a report by Pendragon – the UK’s largest car dealer – predicting that Britain’s new and used car markets will remain in growth during 2015. This follows a six-year high in used car sales figures for the UK last year, as reported by Experian.
Last year, used car sales reached a total of 6.89million vehicles, in 2014 representing an increase of 1.18% on the year before.
Pendragon expects used car sales to rise further this year, between 1 and 2%, in line with the 2014 trends. More than 70,000 used Ford Fiestas changed hands in the fourth quarter of 2014, making it Britain’s top-selling car.
Jasmine of Carworld said, “This ongoing interest in buying and selling used and nearly new cars is encouraging news for us, and it looks like it will continue for the rest of this year at least. Buyers’ behaviour patterns are shifting, and more people are looking to the second-hand market to get as good a deal as they can when choosing their next car.
“We as an industry have also responded by offering better service and warranty deals, as well as attractive finance packages to allow greater flexibility. It’s a win-win situation all round.”
Carworld is a used car supermarket based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. It has 1,000s of cars on offer and offers a wide range of makes and models, as well as highly reliable after-sales support. For more information, please visit the website at www.carworld-uk.com.
